My Opinion:

It’s been awhile since I finished reading Empire of Storms,  but I have to say that I am not over the story and I won’t be for a long time. I recently read that due to Sarah J. Maas’s health the sixth book in the Throne of Glass series will not be released this September like it originally was going to be, but now it will be published next May. I’m a little upset because I really want to read the next book in the series and the anticipation of its release is going to drive me insane. At least Sarah is still releasing a book in September and we have ACOWAR to look forward to in May this year.

Going into this book I really didn’t know what to expect since almost everyone else in the book community read it as soon as it came out and were saying that this book broke them. This book was so intense and I love how all of the small details that Sarah includes in the previous stories all start to come together in the fifth book. Some scenes in the ToG series are very predictable, but that doesn’t mean that I didn’t love reading them. The last scene in EoS was something I did not see coming, a lot of the other stuff that happened, yes I saw that coming, but the ending to the book was insane. It leaves me wondering what is going to happen in the sixth book. I also am wondering if we are going to be meeting any new characters in this world. (I have my suspicions about a ToG/ACOTAR crossover.)

I felt that we got to learn more about each of the characters in this book and that Sarah wonderfully developed her characters personalities and histories. I truly believe that there is still a lot more that Sarah hasn’t told us about our beloved ToG family. With the ending of this book, it is very easy to see the love that the characters have for each other and to see the lengths that each and everyone of them is willing to go to protect what they love. This story was definitely full of surprises and many of them were good, but a few were not.

Many of the characters, like Manon and Lorcan acted in ways that would normally go against their nature, but strange things do happen and they often can cause a person to act like a different person for moments at a time. I also feel like I should mention how adorable Abraxos is, I am really looking forward to reading about him again… he’s just so cute.

I’m not prepared for the next book even with the publishing date being pushed to next year, but at the same time I wanted to read it as soon as I finished this one. But I’ll try my hardest to be patient and hope that Sarah starts to feel better soon because she is so amazing and she deserves to feel that way. Hopefully we all will be able to handle the long wait, but if we can’t we can always reread her books. I plan on doing that, I don’t know when but I do want to reread them because why not.
